FAQs

I’ve never done yoga before, can I take a class?

1

Our classes are open to everyone, and every body - no flexibility or past experience required.

If you're totally new to yoga or heated yoga, you may want to start with a Slow Flow class. It's warm (not hot), and a bit slower-paced than the Dynamic and Signature Flow classes.

How do I get started?

2

We recommend signing up for the Launch Pass (3 weeks unlimited for $59) to try out different classes and teachers. After that, we have unlimited and monthly memberships as well as class pack options.

What should I know before class?

3

Arrive early.

The studio doors are locked when class begins, so we recommend getting here a few minutes early to set your things down and put your mat in your favorite spot.

Dress for the class.

For heated classes, you may want to wear tight-fitting clothes like leggings because your clothes will become heavy with sweat. For Restore, you'll want to embrace your comfort - sweatpants and socks welcome.

Mat, towel, water.

Towels are included with unlimited and limited memberships. Water bottles and snacks are available for purchase. You can bring your own mat or rent one from the studio, and if you have a class package, you can rent a towel as well.

Shower and toiletries available for your use after class.

How hot does it get in the studio?

4

For warm classes, the studio is heated to 80-85 degrees. For hot classes, it’s heated to 95 degrees.

What about parking?

5

We have ample parking with 45 spots in our lot and public street parking nearby.

  • "While I've checked out yoga a few times at the Y or online, this is the first yoga studio I have tried - and I am impressed! The instructors are great and so kind, the studio is beautiful, and I feel very welcome as a newbie."

  • "Just visited Blackbird for the first time this weekend and it was great! I did a Slow Flow (Warm) class. If you're at all interested in trying out "hot yoga" - this is a great way to introduce yourself to it. The room was about 85 degrees and the flow the class worked very well. The instructor (owner) also gives you a lot of modifications so if you're just starting out, you have a way to work the pose or if you're more experienced you can make some adjustments. I got a great workout and I will for sure buy some packages and make it a point to go back. The space is beautiful and relaxing with a very nice entryway with room to store everything you bring."

  • "10/10! Lauren and her team at Blackbird Yoga have done a fantastic job curating a welcoming, bright, and inspiring studio! As someone getting back into yoga after exclusively practicing in home, I really appreciate how approachable the classes are and how supportive the instructors are with modifications to grade the challenge up or down! I am signing up for membership now and excited to be a part of the community!"
